I have a file /lib/libtermcap.so.2.0.5 on each of the systems I've
installed colgate on, but this file is not owned by any package.
However, /lib/libtermcap.so.2.0.8 is owned by the termcap package.
This libtermcap.so.2.0.5 has the same name but is not the same file as
the libtermcap.so.2.0.5 in /home/ftp/lib. Furthermore, programs that
want to link with -ltermcap fail, presumably because there is no link
libtermcap.so -> libtermcap.so.2.0.8, only a link named
libtermcap.so.2. I don't understand the workings of ldconfig so I
don't know what the correct fix for this is, or perhaps I've somehow
created this problem myself? I've created a link and things are
working for the moment, but what is really going on here? Can anyone
explain?
