You know, I just went through the entire installation process again, this
time choosing to have LILO installed on a floppy. When I reboot, I get the
same errors:
scsi : 0 hosts.
scsi : detected total.
Partition check:
VFS: Cannot open root device 08:02
Kernel panic: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on 08:02
Can someone please offer me some advice as to how to make this work? I
don't quite know how to evaluate what's getting written to /etc/lilo.conf
during the installation process. Is it on the new linux root partition,
under /mnt? Can I hit Alt-F2 to get to a prompt and fiddle with it at some
point?
Do I need a different boot disk? How do I boot linux from a floppy without
LILO? Is there some way I can get verbose SCSI error reporting in my boot
disk?
What's up?
