I've had it before too. (not on RH though) on that Linux system a lot of
users always seemed to hang around. It is a common problem,
unfortunately. How you can solve it: install an 'idle killer'. Now, you
must think: "the users aren't idle", they are just in the utmp, but the
idle killer solves that -and- can do a lot more too (such as restricting
certain logins, logging...)! Where to get it from? Hmm, I can't
remember. Just do a search on "linux idle killer" or something, should
be enough. That's the only thing I can help you with... If you happen to
find out a better way, then I'd love to know, for future projects.
