Installing SRPMs

Hi,
Trying to install SRPMS from RH 4.0 CD #2, I get the following:
[root@borg SRPMS]# rpm -Uhv --root /home/vlad/src
NetKit-B-0.08-4.src.rpm
NetKit-B ##################################################
source package contains no .spec file
error: NetKit-B-0.08-4.src.rpm does not appear to be a RPM package
error: NetKit-B-0.08-4.src.rpm cannot be installed
[root@borg SRPMS]# rpm -ihv --root /home/vlad/src pine-3.95-2.src.rpm
pine ##################################################
source package contains no .spec file
error: pine-3.95-2.src.rpm does not appear to be a RPM package
error: pine-3.95-2.src.rpm cannot be installed
[root@borg SRPMS]#
Only after I manually copied them to /home/vlad/src,
was I able to install them.
