'cat /dev/sndstat' gives me the correct settings for my sound card (irqs,
etc). I compiled 2.0.24, but I still get the same "no such device or
address" error. I tried going back to 1.2.13, but whether I use cat or
showaudio, I get:

cat: write error: I/O error

?
