i just reinstalled RedHat 4.0 with some new options and packages and have
noticed that IPX and Appletalk support is loaded on bootup. i applied
some kernel patches and compiled a leaner and meaner kernel to my tastes.
the only problem now is that some script attempts to load these to modules
that i have no need for.

what do i do to alter this behavior?

thanks in advance for any input.
