Yup.  The process goes like this:

Check for Reply-To: and From:.  If Reply-To: exists, offer it to the user 
as an "OPTION", otherwise use From: or let the user enter an address.

Now then, SENDMAIL is more than capable of rewriting From: To: etc.,
and is often configured to do so for an incredible variety of reasons.

Do you have an example of 1) What was sent, 2) What was received, 3) What 
was the Reply msg ?

- This would be very telling of who's to blame, the browser, or a server,
  or what.
