I didn't get much response to the original post, so I'll try again. On
install, I looked at Console 3 and see
* running /bin/insmod /bin/insmod /modules/cdu31a.o
* insmod failed!

Obviously this problem leaves me dead in the water, so any help would be
greatly appreciated!

Paul

Hi all,

This may have been answered before, and I *have* looked at the mailing
list archives, but couldn't find it.

I am trying to install RH 4.0 and it doesn't seem to recognize my
hardware.

I have an Adaptec 1542 SCSI card at IO address 0x330. Upon booting the
install floppy, I see (whizzing by) something like "0 SCSI hosts
found". I have tried typing "linux aha1542=0x330" at the lilo boot
prompt.  Still no SCSI recognition.

The other problem that I have is that the CDROM drive is not
recognized.  I have a CDU31a attached to a SB16 card at 0x220.  The
install program cannot detect it by autoprobing, nor can it be detected
by manually typing in "cdu31a=0x220,0" at either the lilo prompt or in
the install program.

At this point I am dead in the water, so any help would be greatly
appreciated.  Thanks.

Paul
