yeppers, using 7 as the vidmode(S3 in black and off-white), funny though,
whenever i type textmode nowadays, or run any game i get a message that
states my chipset is too *NEW* for these drivers...

so i realize i have version 1.2.9 and they are up to 1.2.10, so i grab an
rpm off the redhat site and upon rpm -U svgalib.rpm i get "only packages
with major numbers <= 2 are supported with this version..."

i miss something here(btw trying to install the latest version of rpm, one
that doesn't crash with the 2.1.* kernels didn't work either)

HOWEVER setting my vid mode to 1 in libvga.config works and i would like to
thank Manuel A. McLure for pointing that one out to me...
