Any way to tell if a newly compiled function...

... was actually compiled into the kernel (and is functioning)?  I
recompiled my kernel so that I could use ip masquerading, and it's not
working.  I'm not sure if it is something I'm doing, or that the compiled
code isnt working.  The other functions that I put in there are working fine
(sound).

        Also, now when I reboot, I get LOTS of undefined links errors.

        Also ;) , anyone know of a good script to call popclient every 10
minutes or so and put my mail in my spool?  I have a line I can type into
the command line, but I'd like to schedule it and have it run in the
background with no console output.  Or maybe you know of an alternative to
using popclient to pull mail down and put in in my spool.  BTW, I'm VERY
unskilled at crontab entries.
