Has anyone implemented raw block devices, specifically, raw access to SCSI
disks?

A WWW search found a message from Linus more than a year ago saying that he
didn't like the idea, but I do have a colleague with a genuine need to access
the disk unbuffered (fancy database technology).

Alternatively, is there a way to somehow mark a partition or access as not for
buffering?
