This would not be a bad idea. If you think about it the only files in a
package that really ever change are configuration related, so it would
provide automatic configuration file handling. And since some
configuration files, like default X resource files, are rarely changed
by many users it saves on the number of .rpmsave files laying around
that may never get cleaned up after an upgrade.
