I've got a P150 system that I'd like to install RedHat 4.0 on.
It has the Sony Cdu31A CD-ROM drive that is connected to a
SoundBlaster Card.
When I use either the newest boot.img or \dosutils\autoboot
and try and install from cd-rom, I tell RH4.0 that I'm using
a Sondy cdu31a cd-rom and give it the parameters (supposedly
0x230,0 is the right one for soundblaster), but IT WON'T FIND
the cd-rom!!!
1) has anyone else had this problem?
2) How to solve it?
3) I tried installing RedHat 3.0.3 with this same computer and it
was able to find the CD-ROM drive and install it!!! But that
doesn't help me with my 4.0 problem (actually when I log into
3.0.3, the CD-ROM doesn't show up--nor can I mount it)
Please help me if you can,
mark
