I am very new to this stuff so please don't laugh at these
questions. I searched the archives first but I didn't find anything
to directly answer my questions.
1) I can't seem to mount my floppy.
I type: mount /dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy
and I get: mount: /dev/fd0 is not a valid block device
What is wrong? Also, why is the floppy not mounted at boot time?
2) I have a deskjet 560c and I'm not sure how to set it up.
I tried both the deskjet and the cdj550 types in printtool
and tried the lptest command but all it did was print
the first line and then eject the paper. Then it loaded
2 more sheets of paper through but did not print anything
on them. I know about the ghostscript fonts that need to be
updated and I haven't done that yet but I didn't think
this problem had anything to do with that. Maybe I'm wrong.
Here is my /etc/printcap after my latest try.
##PRINTTOOL## LOCAL cdj550 360x360 letter {}
djet:\
:sd=/var/spool/lpd/djet\
:mx#0:\
:lp=lp1:\
:if=/var/spool/lpd/djet/filter:\
:sh:
Any help on these 2 questions would be appreciated!
