Hi,
There is an updated xgalaga rpm on our web page
http://www.redhat.com/RedHat-Errata
It should fix your problem with the core dump when playing sounds.
I think you might try the '-b' option for xgal, which makes the
screen flash more but doesn't require the video bandwidth of the
default write method xgal uses.
