Simple Applix Question

I have a simple classlist in text form which I would like to import into
the Applix Spreadsheet.
I have tried this and that and can only get it in as separate lines.
How do I import it as a standard spreadsheet?
With Excel, Lotus, etc. I just set the field separators with TABS, and
then import it.
Any ideas?
