Actually, I have done some research into this card as I had two of them
to use in two machines (486/20 and a P133 with 16 Meg RAM). The Intel
EtherExpress works very nicely on both of my linux boxen. I did, however,
have to specify the io address (0x310) during install. I booted into
Win95 to see what settings it used for the EE and then used them during
the linux install. I don't know how these settings get set since I
see no way to set them manually. There must be a software setting
that Windows forces. Supposedly (according to the Ethernet-HOWTO) these
cards have a bug in them that will cause the card to hang periodically. I
have been using them in both machines for several weeks now without
incident. Good luck!
