Hi all,

Can anyone tell me, off-hand, whether RedHat is supporting shadow passwords
through the libc, or through a seperate libshadow? The reason I ask is
that,
when compiling ssh the other day, I found if I removed /etc/login.defs, it
compiled without shadow password support, yet allowed me to login to a
completely shadow'ed system. I'm assuming, therefore, that libc-5.3 as
distributed in the rpm's supports shadow.

If that's the case, does anyone have any hints or tips for migrating to a
libshadow system? I've noticed some "redhat-specific" patches to the
source
rpm for shadow, are they worth using?

(Does the above make enough sense? :)
