Hi,

As a new user of Linux and Unix as well, and coming from a background
very similar to yours, Ill tell you that the book, "Running Linux", by
Matt Walsh, and published by O'Reilly and Associates, is excellent,
although not RH specific. I used it inconjunction to the RH manual to
install 4.0 on my Toshiba Tecra 700CT laptop. It runs well, using
System Commander as a dual boot loader. I still cant seem to configure
the Metro-X server, but that is probably because I don't know the
settings to use with the TFT screen and the Chips and Technology card
inside it.

Please Email me if you like, and we can correspond and give advice to
each other as we learn about Unix/Linux
