My ISP requires that I invoke the server side with "ppp" before issuing a
login/passwd sequence. Building the script via netcfg is ++annoying
because the "insert" and "append" behaviors are not well defined, and the
entries get swapped around, i.e., out of the intended order. This
requires deleting at least one entry and starting over.
Could this bug be kindred to the fstab options / mount point misalignment
I have reported elsewhere on this list? As in that situation, I find
it's easier just to fire up vi.
Another suggestion would be to add a section to the manual describing
where common configuration files go. Sure, rpm and locate are great.
But it is reassuring to know that the file you're hacking is the one the
designers had in mind.
