I had previously installed Redhat Motif 2.0 from CD on my pentium PC with no
problems. Recently I had to rebuild my entire Linux system, and now when I try
to install Motif I get an error. Here's the steps I followed:
mount /dev/hdc /mnt
cd /mnt
./install.sh
After the opening screen, the script determines that I have an ELF system and
rpm installed, then it tries to install the first component and comes up with:
gzip: stdin: invalid compressed data--format violated
error: gunzip < rh-motif-2.0-1.i386.rpm | cpio -ivumd failed
I searched the archives and a previous posting indicated that this error might
mean that the rpm is corrupted. If this is the case, is there anything can I
do?
Any other ideas?
