The only problem with the new libc is the new malloc, and it can be
compiled with the old malloc. Try
ftp://ftp.redhat.com/pub/contrib/RPMS/libc-gnumalloc-5.3.12-5.i386.rpm

If you use the old libc, you should write a wrapper script, so that only
netscape sees the old libc. I don't think that is necessary if you use
the new libc with the old malloc.

(Is this a candidate for the FAQ?)
