This is a mixup: Lemport's book is not this. The `Companion' is
written by Goosens etal, and is *not* an intro book.
A good intro book (imho) is Kopka, daly: A guide to LaTeX2e.
If you are a mathematician, then get Gratzer: Math into LaTeX, 2nd ed.
