I just upgraded to RedHat 4.0. from Redhat 3.0.3. Now, when I run XFree86 using
startx (in root), I get a blank graphic screen, with a simple default menu selection.
xinit brings up the graphic screen, and then goes back to the text prompt, with the
message
xterm: no available ptys
Finally, using xdm, I can get the control panel, etc., but when I login as root, I
get the same blank graphic screen/default menu again. Again suggestions?
