A few people appear to have had some unexplained and unresolved problems
with Mitsumi CDROMS. We aren't yet sure what's happening; the drive
is apparantly saying that it's not yet ready to mount the cdrom when
we try to mount it in the install code.
I blindly hacked the driver a bit. Since I don't have this drive, I
have no way of knowing whether my hack will fix the problem; in fact,
even if I had a drive, it appears that it probably wouldn't be one of
the malfunctioning ones, since they seem to be not very common...
If you have a Mitsumi drive that uses the "mcd" driver, and which
does not work with our current install, I'd very much appreciate it
if you could test a new boot image I made that has some hacks added.
If you test it, please tell me whether or not it works for you.
You can retrieve the image from

Thanks, and good luck,
