Sometimes, when a user double-clicks to restore an iconified window,
the X display will freeze (XFree86-3.1.2, RH Motif 2.0). This happens after
the Motif window manager menu appears (restore/maximize/close, etc.).
The frozen display will not respond to any mouse clicks, though the
mouse pointer will move around the screen. Clicking on "Restore" or
anything else visible has no effect.

I have found only two effective way to unfreeze the screen without
rebooting. One is Ctl-Alt-Backspace to kill X. The other is Alt-F1.
After Alt-F1, all of the "missed" mouse clicks are executed rapidly in
sequence!

No errors appear in the XDM error file.

Users are complaining about the freeze-ups. Any help will be appreciated!

CONFIGURATION DETAILS:
This happens on two machines. Both are using Red Hat Motif 2.0. One
has straight Red Hat Linux 3.0.3, the other has 3.0.3 with a kernel
upgraded to 2.0.0 via the RPMs.

Both also use XFree86-3.1.2-5 from RH3.0.3 upgrade directory. Both
machines are 486/100, 16MB, 48 MB swap, 1G HD, Logitech serial
Mouseman.

Thanks for any suggestions, specific RTFMs, etc!
