There are commercial systems available for Linux, a good place to start 
is the Red Hat (and possibly Caldera) web sites.

Additionally, however, you should at least find a copy of the 
documentation for Postgres95, a freely available, now SQL based rdb 
from the UC Berkley.  Originally was just Postgres, non-sql.  Now 
cleaned up & modified to SQL interface.  Runs well, well documented.  
I'd give it a look.
