Hello,
I am having big problems installing redhat linux 4.0 .
I boot from the floppy, go through the entire installation process
without a hitch, and then it will not properly install lilo. It then
gets confused in a loop, and things go down hill from there.
Here's what I send to redhat support (with no response, yet):
>> I just got the 4.0 release on CD and cannot get it to install.

>> select the "/dev/hda Master Boot Record", change nothing on the
>> Bootable Partitions screen, hit Ok and after flashing "Installing
>> Boot Loader", an error dialog comes up. It says:
>>

>> An error occured during step "Install
>> bootloader" of the install.

>> Pentium 90 - no fdiv bug
>> 32M memory
>> SoundBlaster 16 IDE CD
>> Connor CP850 850M IDE HD - reads Maxtor 7850AV at bootup
>> Western Digital WDC AP4200 IDE HD - second HD, no linux on this one
>> Diamond Stealth 64 PCI DRAM video card
>> Connor Tape Drive - uses floppy controller
>> 3Com 503 Ethernet Card
>> USR Sportster 288 modem

I obviously have a completely unusable computer right now. I get the
error "Missing Operating System" when I try to boot now.
If anyone has more insight on this, please let me know.
Thanks in advance.
