'su' is gone. Or, more accurately, it's gotten thinner: 28 bytes to be
exact, and when I try to run it, I get this:
./su: 0.000000: command not found
In 7 years of using Unix systems, I have never seen this happen. Only
one other person has root access on that machine and they insist they
didn't do anything. In an effort to give them benefit of the doubt, I'm
making sure that there isn't something else that could have caused this.
The server in question is a 486dx2/66, 16meg ram, Redhat3.0.3, kernel
1.2.13. This machine is purely a SMTP/POP server.
On a related note, is there anyway for me to recover from this remotely?
If not, I have to jump in my car and drive over there. I tried ftping
the 'su' off one of the other servers but when I run it it says:
su: cannot set groups
It was a long shot, but I really don't want to get out of my chair
today. :)
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
