We are using Linux (RH, Caldera and other versions) at work (a major financial
company that I'd rather not mention since we don't use officialy use Linux for
or web pages). Our work stations (HP and Sun) are still a lot faster with more
facilities then our PC's (which cost more like $6000, not $3000). Then 166 mHz
and 200 mHz Pentiums still lack when compared to SPARC and PA-RISC. In addition,
the lack of sufficient IRQ's and ports drives us crazy. However, the Linux is
MORE stable and easier to use then HPUX 10.x and is about equivalent to Solaris.
We are very happy with RH and are considering its use on older SPARC 2's and
10's.
