Hi,
I just bought "Red Hat Linux Unleashed" - SAMS Publishing. I have been
using linux (slackware) for last 2 years but the installation has never
been so easy. I am very happy to have purchased Red Hat. I have two
small problems:
1. I cannot make PPP work from a script file. My script file looks like
this:
#/bin/sh /usr/sbin/pppd connect "/usr/sbin/chat -v '' ATZ OK
ATDTxxxxxxx CONNECT '' ogin: xxxxxxxx word: xxxxxxxx" /dev/modem 38400
-detach crtscts modem defaultroute &
and I get error in the message file:
Oct 11 11:05:13 prachi pppd[627]: pppd 2.1.2 started by root, uid 0 Oct
11 11:05:13 prachi pppd[627]: ioctl(TIOCSCTTY): Operation not permitted
Oct 11 11:05:13 prachi pppd[627]: Exit.
When I type the same stuff on command line - every thing works fine.
How can I make it work though the script file?
2. When I installed Linux from the CD-ROM I had specified hdd=cdrom at
the boot time. Somehow it did not get into lilo.conf. Now I am unable
to mount the CD-ROM. What should I do?
3. Are there any drivers available for parallel port zip drive?
