Hi,

I have been trying to do the HD install of RH 3.03. I have a second hard
drive, Conner 1275 mb partitioned: 255 for MSDOS where the files from the
CD-ROM are copied to per instructions in the book, 24 mb SWAP partition,
990 mb for Linux, partitions are tagged accordingly. During boot, the
partition check shows the D: drive as -
hdb:hdb1 hdb2 <hdb5 hdb6>
        [255 24 990]
In the Hard Drive install, when I get to 'Enter Device Name(including
/dev/)', I enter /dev/hdb1/dev/hdb2 I get this msg. -

'mount: mountpoint /image is not a directory'

or I enter /dev/hdb1 /dev/hdb2/ and I get msg. -

usage: mount .....
       mount......etc

which I assume means I entered the devices incorrectly, so when I get back
to the 'Try Again' screen, I do so and regardless of which way I enter
the device names I get msg-

'can't create lock file /etc/mtab~: file exists'

I have also tried /dev/hdb1/dev/hdb2/redhat, since the directories are
in a redhat directory, and it didn't make a difference.
So, I'm stumped, and would appreciate any help on this.

Thanks,

Mark Hosselton
