Is it possible (I don't see it if it is) to *lock* a
package thus preventing it from inadvertent erasure?
I'd like to protect my system from myself and avoid
problems due to the likes of ...
rpm -e SysVinit-2.62-1
It strikes me odd that this feature does not already exist.
Surely I'm just overlooking it.
If it does not exist, I'd like to request it from
RedHat.
I'd like to *lock* my base system & even possibly do some
housekeeping to clean things up periodically:
rpm -e `rpm -qa` This would erase anything not *locked*.
rpm -e would not erase *locked* packages, but would only
issue a warning message.
What do you think?
Roger
