The ical bug --- is this the bug whereby the tilde in the default filename

                           ~/.calendar

does not get expanded? If not, then I'm reporting it.

This bug exposes another, underlying, bug: if the calendar file cannot be
written, then ical fails to exit cleanly, preferring to enter an
infinite loop of (1) failing to open the file and (2) popping up a
notify window telling you that it failed to open the file. This can be
stopped (only?) by explicitly killing the process.

BTW, I've worked around the top-level bug by overriding the default file
on the command line:

                      ical -calendar ~/.calendar &

The shell expands the ~ before ical is started. This also hides the 2nd bug.
