Emacs font Problem with 4.0

I have done a clean install of 4.0 with all the upgrades,
but now I am going thru the bugs. I have a problem with
Xemacs and Emacs and the fonts. If I use 'dired'everything
is fine, however when I just do a 'ls' this is what I see:
[0mcookie.jar[0m [01;36msys_admin[0m
[01;34mdownload[0m [0mutil-linux-2.5-28.i386.rpm[0m
[0mjunk[0m
Anyone else have this problem, or have any idea's what
might be causing this ?
