Well, that's OK if you don't have a lot of extra space for printer
queue files. (lpr -s makes a link from the file that is printed
to the printer queue, rather than doing a copy.)
If your spool area (i.e., /var/spool/lp*) is on a different filesystem
than what you intend to print, then I don't think it will work.

The Redhat printfilters will take care of that. It's not really a
KDE issue.
