If this is what it sounds like, you do have another choice:  wait a
minute.  I don't think sendmail is hung, so to speak.  It is confused,
and will eventually snap out of it if you can sit tight.  I think.

Is it "Missing information about daemon or utility makemap in
configuration file /usr/lib/linuxconf/DIST/conf.daemons"?  I think
somebody told me how to fix this a couple of weeks ago, then I went and
deleted the message.  Guess I'll have to track it down in THE MAILING
LIST ARCHIVES.
