I asked at a kde list, and as I assumed, the following steps should do it.
(as described in a reply).

1) Perhaps you would want to use "lpr -s %f"
2) But of course, you must be sure that the file you drag to printer is in a
suitable format. The best solution would probably be to execute some sort of
filter application which examines the contents (and perhaps the file
extension)
and make the right input for the printer and then feed the data to lpr.
