I'm having a problem with glint. I am running Redhat 5.1 on two different
gateway machines, one a 66mhz 486 and the other a 166mhz pentium. I am
seeing the same problem. I can install the system without a problem, i.e.
all the applications can be read from the CD, however, if I want to install
other applications from the CD later on glint craps out on me. I set the
configuration directory and click on the "available" button. The window
pops up saying that the program is looking for available rpms and then
about 3/4s of the way through the little progress bar freezes. If I ran
glint from the control-panel, I thought maybe there was something wrong
with the CD, but when I ran if from an xterm an error pops up that seems
to be related to python (the scripting language not the snake). I don't
have the exact error in front of me but it is something along the lines of

"can't open file /var/tmp/python-root/usr/lib/python-1.5.1/Tkinter.py"

Does anyone know what this means or know of a fix or know what I've done
wrong?

thanks,
dan
