Yes, PostScript printers are very good, but they are rather expensive.
So the first decision to take is how much money can be spent. If
he/she can efford an expensive printer, than any PS one is the best
solution, and buying HP will provide compatibility with everything in the
world. But if one is short of money, than I'd recommend smth like Lexmark
Optra E+. I've been using it for a year and had no problems at all. To my
mind it's better than HP 6L which is similar in characteristics. Up to now
I have a complete compatibility of this printer with all soft written for
HP LaserJet. Even programmes handling toner usage for HP work with it.
Besides Lexmark cartrige allows about 3000 copies vs 2000 for HP 6L.
Horizontal paper loading in Lexmark is also a better choice than vertical
for HP 6L.

HP is too well-known, so you have to pay for this. I guess that buying
things of less known (but still reliable :) ) manufacturers allows to save
a lot of money. Still HP is considered as a standard.
So, in short, Lexmark Optra E+ is a good choice for using at home or in a
little office.
