0. Write down or print out the output from
# df
so you know what partition mounts where.

1. Make sure you have at least 30% free space in
each of your filesystems.  (Maybe you just have one.)
If you don't have enough free space, de-install
some rpm packages.  You can put them back
later, from the new CD, as space allows.

2. Make a boot floppy from boot.img
3. Boot from the boot floppy.
4. Read carefully and proceed until it shows "Upgrade or Install?"
5. Select Upgrade

6. Have a beer when it starts updating all the rpms.
Reboot when done.

7. Examine each /etc/*.rpmsave file.
Compare each one with its corresponding conf file.
Make any fixes in conf files that the upgrade process
did wrong or missed.

The more changes and custom setup you did before,
the more conf fixes you might need to make.
No changes are needed if you are lucky.
