Yes, that is the only place that you need to change. After you
change it there, the machine will respond to pings at the new
address. However, check the following places for places where
the old IP address (or network address if you changed it) will
show up:
/etc/sysconfig/network
/etc/hosts
/etc/hosts.allow
/etc/hosts.deny
/etc/resolv.conf <---important!
/etc/hosts.equiv
Also, in other computers, you need to make sure that the new IP
address is mentioned correctly:
The DNS zone files (usually /var/named/*
The other's machines'
/etc/hosts.equiv etc.
