   The way *I* configure the mouse in Slackware is...manually! I've had too
many lockups with too many "mouse-config" programs to rely on them. Just set
the mouse device in /dev and configure your XF86Config file.
   For instance, to configure a "PS/2" mouse:
        cd /dev
        ls -s -f psaux mouse
   Then edit /usr/X11/lib/X11/XF86Config and set up the "pointer device":
        Section "Pointer"

              Protocol    "PS/2"
              Device      "/dev/mouse"

   That's it. I've seen so many people waste days trying to get a GUI config to
work, when 5 minutes with a text editor would do the job. And what's the
problem with text editors? You used one to write this message, right?
