When you do startx, it prints out a lot of debug messages on the console.
Try to capture that and see at what point it got stuck. Compare the output
to the output when it did not get stuck. That may give some clues!

I'm using fvwm2 as my X manager.
Sometimes when i type startx, I can't seem to get into X-windows.
It just hangs there with the cross cursor..
What's going on ? what could be the problem ?
