This is directed at Steven; I lost the original message.
If your RedHat is like mine, then it'll accept bad passwords. It'll
complain about them, but it'll accept them.
I just changed my root passwd to "dog" e.g. (Yes, I changed it back
afterwards... to cat...<g>)
[root@smile ~]# passwd
New UNIX password:
BAD PASSWORD: it's WAY too short
Retype new UNIX password:
passwd: all authentication tokens updated successfully
