I appreciate that we can get the distributions for dirt cheap from
various sources, but I do think we need to support the distributors,
if we can.

A couple of years ago, I had a slakware distribution which took
most of an evening to install and get a shabby X windows up and
running.  This with the help of an experienced friend.

I originally bought RH5.1 in the boxed set, and found the manual to
be invaluable.

More to support Red Hat than anything else, I bought the boxed 5.2.  The
manual is bigger, and I must say what I know about linux, comes from this
list and those manuals.

I'll jump off the soapbox now.
