I have redhat linux 5.2 on my intel box. I mounted the CDROM and did
a cd into gnome. I then executed ./install-gnome as root, but
received the following error msg after answering OK to all the
questions.

       imlib = 1.8 is needed by imlib-cfgeditor-1.8-5

Both imlib and imlib-cdgeditor are on the CD.

I also tried a straight upgrade (with --test), but was not successful

   [root@shorthills RPMS]# rpm -U --test i386/*.rpm noarch/*.rpm
   /usr/include/glib.h conflicts with file from gtk+-devel-1.0.6-3
   {other conflicts as well, deleted to save space}

Is the appropriate action to do the upgrade with the various "forcing"
options available in rpm?

thanks in advance,
allan gottlieb
