Found the problem. I disabled the CPU cache, and had a successful install.
The second time I ran through the install in the same config, I locked up
w/Signal 11 again. I then removed 32 MB SIMM pair, and had a successful
install. I have not yet tried another install, but will when I can get PPP
configured with my external ISDN modem, and can download the necessary
files.
By the way, I started looking into congfiguring PPP last night. This is not
going to be a simple task. Why is it that so much in Linux has to be such a
huge undertaking?
I guess this is newbie initiation.
All the work needed to have a nicely functioning Linux box is the reason it
will not be on the desktop any time soon.
Thanks
