George,

	I'm running XFSTT here on a dual boot system and have had no
problem using any of my Windows fonts, including the ding bats and the
like. I'm not using a symbolic link, which may or may not have something
to do with it but I cannot say for sure as I'm not too heavy on symbolic
links. Simply, since I have the space and am planning to remove Windows
from my system I went ahead and created the directory as per the XFSTT
instructions and I've been happy as a penguin in Linux ever since...
