Each of the items has a name (kppp, kmail, kfm, and so forth). I added
those as menu calls on the taskbar. Actually, I started using
tkgoodstuff and added what I wanted there. I use kpp, korganizer and
sometimes kmail.
Be careful of using anything to do with kfm if you want to keep
overhead low. It will automatically bring up all of the desktop icons
and all of the memory-hungry stuff as well.
By the same token, I'd recommend not using kmail too much. If you
double-click a link in it, it calls up kfm which brings all of the
overhead with it.
